iBall launches flagship Andi 4.7G Cobalt Android 4.2 phone

angalore: If smart phones derive their greatness by being cutting edge tools of leisure and play, here’s one that belongs to a champions’ league.

iBall has launched Andi 4.7G Cobalt, India’s first android phones with 5MP auto-focus front camera.

The Cell Phones comes with a screen size of 4.7inch, IPS HD (720p) display and an ergonomic curved touch panel surface with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a 312 PPI display.

At its heart is a powerful Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 processor, backed by 1GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory, which is expandable upto 32 GB. It runs on latest Android version, Jelly Bean 4.2.

A 12 MP auto-focus rear camera with dual LED flash and several add on features namely - face beautification, smile detection, 360 degree Panorama, 3D photography and video recording is a treat for a camera lover. Adding to it, Cobalt bags the advantage of being India’s first wifi phone to have 5MP auto-focus front camera.

Two of the gimmicky features we mentioned earlier are Direct Call and Smart Answer. Just like on the Samsung Galaxy S3, Direct Call allows you to call a contact you’re viewing or messaging by simply lifting the phone to your ear. We have no idea what the Smart Answer feature does, but you can flip your phone face-down to silence incoming calls.

Another feature that’s very creatively called "Pop-up play" lets you watch videos on your screen while doing something else. You can drag the media player’s window while playing a video to fill up half the screen and distract yourself from whatever else you’re doing.

iBall has endowed the Cobalt with the ability to receive updates over the air, so it is likely that Google’s next Android version may be rolled out for this phone.

The Cobalt comes bundled with a USB On-the-Go cable to let you connect USB flash drives, keyboards and mice via the microUSB slot.

“We are proud to say that amongst all the phones in the market priced under Rs.20,000, the iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt is definitely the best. With its loaded functionalities, it tops the Andi series. We believe every user will be stunned with its highly crafted design, features and amazing performance,” said Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director of iBall.

The company has also included software tweaks like Pop-up play, custom gestures for unlocking the 3G GT-S777 and others on the phone.
